Gratia Church Sunday Service: "The Journey of Naomi and Ruth"

Twenty-one members including two visitors Mrs. Mpundu gathered at Mrs. Norah's house, the program was organized by Pastor Peter. The word of God was shared by Mama Mpundu, the elder who is older 60 years. The message about the Journey of Naomi and Ruth from Ruth 1:1-11.

She shared about two kinds of people of God, the one who endures up to end, and the people who step back to the world. She explains that Christian has the journey to reach the kingdom of God. It takes people who put faith in Christ that can finish the race.

She said that Ruth symbolized the true Christian who endures up to end when we are making the Church of God. We need to be strong enough to endure all the challenges. Ruth had a focus to trust the God of Naomi. She believed that the God of Naomi can save her and bless for the rest of her life, she didn't give up but she said to Naomi that "I will go with you, Your God will be my God, Your people will be my people and where ever you will die I will die".

She taught as Christian, we need to be ready to leave all the possession and family and follow Jesus and we should not look backward but to carry the cross of Jesus because we can find our lives in Him. Christ has paid His blood for our sins. We have the debts to repay to him and this is debt is love which means we need to save the world to Him. She added from the book of Ecclesiastes 12:14 that God will judge everyone according to what we have done whether good and bad.

Intern Peter shared that "the message was graceful as she is older than a 60-year-old woman but she was preaching the word of God with boldness and the Church congregation was encouraged to see our grandmother sharing the message of Christ".
